Text laundering

I specialise in improvements to academic texts written by writers who are not native English speakers. Text laundering – ‘Sprogvask‘, to use a great Danish word – is more that just proof reading. It means improving the communicative value of a text by correcting grammatical, syntactical and lexical errors, simplifying sentence construction and generally clearing up the language – while respecting the intentions and ideas of the writer. This calls for extensive knowledge of the writer’s native language, of the general subject area and, of course, English. I work mostly with texts written by native speakers of Danish, Norwegian and Swedish, but can also cooperate with authors writing in any of the Germanic or Romance languages. I work exclusively with texts broadly related to the Humanities.
