I have lived in Denmark since 1972, and apart from lecturing at the local University College I have been running my own company since 1983. The company was originally called 'Scantext', later changed to 'Eurotext'.
Many thousands of pages have passed through a variety of word processors installed on lots of different computers, from an Amstrad 64 in the 1980s to my present IBM.

I have written many original texts, including a whole series of textbooks for the teaching of English in Danish Schools, but mostly I have worked as a translator and speaker.
Since the early 1980s I have translated thousands of shorter texts and several books, mostly from Danish to English, but also from French and German to English. The books can be seen on the left - further details about these and a list of frequent customers can be found below.

My translations fall into the following broad categories:

  1. Historical, cultural, artistic and archeological texts, typically for museums and websites
  2. Descriptive and promotional texts for companies, educational institutions and tourist agencies, including websites
  3. Academic texts: articles, reports, thesis resumés
  4. Official and legal texts: contracts, legislation, Executive Orders, curricula
  5. A small number of technical texts (engineering and the oil industry)
  6. Texts to be used for the sound tracks of films or CDs
  7. Texts for the teaching of English, using a variety of styles
  8. Speeches and poetry
